  • Increased front droop travel

  • Heavy-duty 7/8-inch shock shafts

The result is a suspension system with remote reservoir shocks at all four corners.

For vehicles subjected to extended off-road driving, repeated high-speed impacts, washboard roads and other demanding conditions, the increased oil volume and improved cooling can help reduce shock fade and maintain more consistent suspension performance.

Adjustable 0-3.5" Front Lift

The ICON Stage 5 front coilovers provide 0 to 3.5 inches of adjustable front lift.

This allows you to set front ride height based on your desired stance, tire size and vehicle configuration.

Unlike a basic spacer lift, ICON's coilovers replace the factory shock and spring assemblies with performance suspension components engineered to improve:

  • Ride quality

  • Shock damping

  • Suspension travel

  • Vehicle control

  • Off-road performance

  • Front ride height

Front Lift Range: 0-3.5"

ICON notes that published coilover heights are based on a stock-equipped vehicle. Added weight from aftermarket bumpers, winches, skid plates and other accessories can affect actual ride height.

Adjustable Rear Pinion Angle

Lifting a vehicle changes the relationship between the rear axle and driveshaft.

The ICON billet rear lower links allow the installer to adjust link length and optimize the rear pinion angle after the suspension has been lifted.

ICON's Double Adjuster system allows adjustments to be performed on the vehicle, simplifying suspension setup and fine-tuning.

2" Rear Lift Coil Springs

The K53065 includes ICON 52700 2-inch rear lift coil springs.

These springs provide approximately 2 inches of rear lift over stock, helping create a level front-to-rear stance while maintaining on-road comfort and improving off-road suspension performance.

2.5 Aluminum Series Remote Reservoir Rear Shocks

The K53065 Stage 5 system includes ICON 57810P 2.5 Aluminum Series Vehicle-Specific Remote Reservoir rear shocks.

ICON Bump Zone Technology

The Stage 5 rear shocks feature ICON's internal Bump Zone technology.

Bump Zone creates an additional 20% of damping force to help better control hard bottom-outs.

This additional damping helps:

  • Better control hard bottom-outs

  • Reduce harsh suspension impacts

  • Improve vehicle control

  • Manage larger off-road impacts

  • Maintain a smoother and more controlled ride

This allows the shock to remain compliant during normal suspension movement while providing additional control as the suspension approaches a hard bottom-out condition.

Remote Reservoir Shocks Front & Rear

One of the defining characteristics of K53065 Stage 5 is the use of 2.5 Series Remote Reservoir shocks at all four corners.

External reservoirs increase the total volume of shock oil and help maintain cooler operating temperatures during heavy suspension use.

Benefits include:

  • Increased shock oil capacity

  • Improved heat management

  • Reduced shock fade

  • More consistent damping

  • Better performance during prolonged off-road driving

  • Improved control over repeated impacts

  • Excellent performance on washboard roads and rough terrain

This makes Stage 5 especially well suited for vehicles used for:

  • Serious trail driving

  • Overlanding

  • High-speed off-road driving

  • Extended backcountry travel

  • Washboard roads

  • Repeated rough-terrain use

KDSS Compatibility

The K53065 is compatible with KDSS-equipped applications, but ICON specifically states:

KDSS-equipped vehicles require ICON rear track bar #54200.

ICON also notes:

  • Front sway bar relocation brackets are not used on KDSS-equipped vehicles

  • Certain model years may require trimming for front reservoir bracket fitment

Customers with KDSS-equipped vehicles should take these requirements into consideration before installation.

Adjustable Rear Track Bar Recommendation

Even on non-KDSS vehicles, ICON recommends an adjustable rear track bar to help realign the rear axle after lifting, although it is not required.

Because the factory track bar has a fixed length, increasing rear ride height can shift the solid rear axle laterally.

An adjustable track bar allows the axle to be properly repositioned beneath the vehicle.

Recommended Track Bar: ICON #54200

Remote Reservoir Clearance Note

ICON notes that the remote reservoir mounting brackets may interfere with certain aftermarket bumper mounts or windshield washer bottles.

Vehicles equipped with aftermarket bumpers, relocated washer reservoirs or other modifications in the reservoir mounting area should be checked for clearance before installation.

Wheel & Tire Recommendations

ICON confirms that OEM wheels and tires are compatible with the K53065 suspension system.

For aftermarket wheel and tire combinations, ICON recommends:

17" Wheels

  • 17x8.5"

  • 4.75" backspacing

  • 0mm offset

18" Wheels

  • 18x9"

  • 5.00" backspacing

  • 0mm offset

20" Wheels

  • 20x9"

  • 5.00" backspacing

  • 0mm offset

Recommended Aftermarket Tire Size:
33" x 11.50"

ICON notes that larger tires may fit, but fender trimming and modifications will be required.

Actual tire clearance can vary based on wheel width, offset, backspacing, suspension height and vehicle configuration.

Expedition Coil Option for Heavier Vehicles

ICON offers an optional 700 lb/in Expedition Coil for heavier-equipped vehicles.

This may be beneficial for 4Runners and FJ Cruisers carrying substantial permanent front-end weight from accessories such as:

  • Steel bumpers

  • Winches

  • Skid plates

  • Recovery equipment

  • Other permanently installed accessories

Fully Serviceable ICON Shocks

The ICON shocks included with K53065 are fully serviceable.

Unlike disposable replacement shocks, ICON shocks can be serviced and rebuilt as components wear, helping extend the usable life of the suspension system.

Bolt-On Installation

The ICON K53065 Stage 5 Suspension System is designed as a bolt-on suspension upgrade.

No cutting or welding is required for installation.

A professional wheel alignment should be performed after installation and final front ride-height adjustment.

Because the system includes adjustable rear lower links, the rear pinion angle should also be checked and properly adjusted during installation.
