What Does Stage 4 Add Over Stage 3?

The defining upgrade from K53053T Stage 3 to K53054T Stage 4 is the rear shock package.

Stage 3 uses ICON 2.0 rear shocks, while Stage 4 upgrades to:

  • 2.5 Aluminum Series rear shocks

  • Remote reservoirs

  • Increased shock oil volume

  • Enhanced cooling

  • Improved resistance to shock fade

  • Heavy-duty 7/8" shock shafts

  • ICON Bump Zone technology

The Stage 4 system retains the Extended Travel front coilovers, tubular Delta Joint upper control arms, 2" rear springs and tubular rear lower links found in the tubular Stage 3 package.

For vehicles that spend substantial time off road or repeatedly cycle the suspension over rough terrain, the larger remote reservoir rear shocks provide a significant performance advantage.

Adjustable 0-3.5" Front Lift

The ICON Extended Travel 2.5 Series front coilovers provide 0 to 3.5 inches of adjustable front lift on a stock-equipped vehicle.

This allows the front ride height to be adjusted based on your desired stance, tire size and vehicle configuration.

Unlike a basic spacer lift, the ICON system replaces the factory front shock and spring assemblies with performance coilovers designed to improve:

  • Ride quality

  • Shock damping

  • Suspension travel

  • Vehicle control

  • Off-road performance

  • Front ride height

Front Lift Range: 0-3.5"

ICON notes that published coilover lift heights are based on a stock-equipped vehicle. Added weight from aftermarket bumpers, winches, skid plates and other accessories can affect actual ride height.

Extended Travel 2.5 Series Front Coilovers

K53054T uses ICON 58645 Extended Travel 2.5 Series Vehicle-Specific Internal Reservoir Coilovers.

The Extended Travel design provides additional front suspension droop and wheel travel when combined with the included ICON upper control arms.

Key features include:

  • 2.5-inch shock body

  • Extended Travel design

  • Vehicle-specific shock tuning

  • Adjustable 0-3.5" front lift

  • Increased front droop travel

  • Corrosion-resistant CAD-plated shock body

  • Heavy-duty 7/8-inch shock shaft

  • 6061 aircraft-grade aluminum CNC-machined components

  • FK Rod End bearings

  • Fully serviceable construction

ICON Tubular Upper Control Arms

The K53054T Stage 4 system includes ICON 58451DJ tubular steel upper control arms.

These heavy-duty UCAs are designed to complement the Extended Travel front coilovers and provide the additional articulation required when increasing front suspension travel and ride height.

The tubular control arms provide a strong and durable alternative to ICON's billet aluminum UCA design while retaining the performance benefits of the ICON Delta Joint.

ICON Delta Joint

The tubular upper control arms use ICON's patented Delta Joint.

The Delta Joint is a heavy-duty high-angle joint designed to combine the durability of a ball joint with the increased angularity and performance characteristics of a traditional uniball.

Delta Joint features include:

  • Heavy-duty high-angle design

  • Greater angularity than a typical ball joint

  • Metal-on-metal construction

  • Greaseable design

  • Zinc-plated housing for corrosion resistance

  • Protective grease seal

  • Helps keep dirt, water and contaminants away from internal components

  • Designed for quiet operation

  • Excellent for daily-driven and off-road vehicles

Tubular Steel Rear Lower Links

The K53054T includes ICON 54000T tubular steel rear lower links.

These links replace the factory rear lower control arms with substantially stronger components designed specifically for lifted and off-road applications.

Benefits include:

  • Heavy-duty tubular steel construction

  • Increased strength compared with OE rear links

  • Adjustable rear pinion angle

  • Improved rear suspension geometry

  • Correct roll-steer geometry

  • Low-maintenance multi-durometer bushings

  • Improved on-road and off-road handling

  • Direct replacement for the factory rear lower links

Adjustable Rear Pinion Angle

Lifting a vehicle changes the relationship between the rear axle and driveshaft.

The ICON tubular rear lower links allow adjustment for optimum rear pinion angle, helping maintain proper driveline geometry after the vehicle has been lifted.

This is an important functional advantage over non-adjustable factory rear links.

Correct Roll-Steer Geometry

ICON designed the tubular rear lower links to provide correct roll-steer geometry.

This contributes to predictable rear suspension behavior and improved handling both on pavement and off road.

The links therefore provide more than simply increased strength—they're designed as a functional suspension upgrade.

2" Rear Lift Coil Springs

The K53054T includes ICON 52700 2-inch rear lift coil springs.

These springs complement the adjustable front coilovers and provide additional rear ride height while maintaining balanced front-to-rear suspension performance.

2.5 Aluminum Series Remote Reservoir Rear Shocks

One of the most important components of K53054T is the pair of ICON 57810P 2.5 Aluminum Series Remote Reservoir rear shocks.

Compared with conventional 2.0 rear shocks, the larger 2.5 Series shocks provide greater oil capacity and enhanced cooling.

Rear shock features include:

  • 2.5-inch aluminum shock body

  • External remote reservoirs

  • Increased shock oil volume

  • Enhanced cooling

  • Improved resistance to shock fade

  • Vehicle-specific tuning

  • Heavy-duty 7/8-inch shock shafts

  • Designed for 1-3 inches of rear lift

  • ICON Bump Zone technology

  • Fully serviceable construction

Why Remote Reservoir Shocks?

Shock absorbers convert suspension movement into heat.

During prolonged driving over rough terrain, repeated suspension movement causes shock temperatures to increase. Excessive heat can eventually reduce damping performance.

The remote reservoir design increases the total oil volume of the shock system while providing additional capacity for heat management.

This allows the rear suspension to work harder for longer periods without noticeable shock fade.

The Stage 4 system is especially well suited for:

  • Aggressive trail driving

  • High-speed off-road use

  • Washboard roads

  • Overlanding

  • Extended backcountry travel

  • Heavily modified vehicles

  • Repeated rough-terrain driving

ICON Bump Zone Technology

The 2.5 Series rear shocks included with K53054T feature ICON's Bump Zone technology.

Bump Zone significantly increases damping during the final 2 inches of compression travel.

As the rear suspension approaches full compression, the additional damping helps slow axle movement before the suspension reaches the end of its travel.

This helps:

  • Reduce harsh bottom-out

  • Improve suspension control

  • Absorb larger impacts

  • Maintain better vehicle composure

  • Provide a more controlled ride over changing terrain

Balanced Front-to-Rear Damping

ICON designed the Stage 4 system as a complete suspension package rather than simply combining unrelated components.

The 2.5 Series front coilovers and 2.5 Series remote reservoir rear shocks provide balanced damping capability from front to rear.

Vehicle-specific tuning helps provide predictable handling and suspension response across varying terrain.
