Upgrade the ride quality, handling and off-road capability of your Toyota with the ICON Vehicle Dynamics Stage 1 Suspension System, part #K53061.

Designed specifically for the 2010-2024 Toyota 4Runner and 2010-2014 Toyota FJ Cruiser, this entry-level ICON suspension system combines 2.5 Series front coilovers, 2-inch rear lift coil springs, and matched 2.0 Aluminum Series rear shocks.

The front coilovers are adjustable from 0-3.5 inches of lift, allowing you to dial in your desired front ride height while improving suspension travel, shock damping and overall vehicle control.

Important KDSS Fitment Note

KDSS-equipped vehicles require ICON rear track bar #54200.

ICON also recommends an adjustable rear track bar to properly realign the rear axle after lifting, although it is not required on non-KDSS applications.

If your 4Runner or FJ Cruiser is equipped with KDSS, plan on adding the ICON 54200 Adjustable Rear Track Bar.

ICON Stage 1 Suspension System

The K53061 is ICON's entry-level suspension system for the later-generation Toyota 4Runner and FJ Cruiser platform.

Although it is ICON's Stage 1 package, it is much more than a basic lift kit.

ICON engineers the front and rear shocks with vehicle-specific damping to improve suspension control both on and off road.

The result is a suspension system designed to improve:

  • Ride quality

  • Handling

  • Shock damping

  • Wheel travel

  • Body control

  • Off-road capability

  • Vehicle stance

It's an excellent choice for:

  • Daily driving

  • Off-roading

  • Overlanding

  • Trail driving

  • Camping

  • Larger tire and wheel combinations

  • Modified vehicles

  • Drivers looking for improved suspension performance without moving into more complex ICON stages

Adjustable 0-3.5" Front Lift

The ICON 2.5 Series front coilovers provide 0 to 3.5 inches of adjustable front lift.

This allows you to set the front ride height based on your desired stance, tire size and vehicle configuration.

Unlike a basic spacer lift, ICON's coilover system replaces the factory front shock and spring assembly with a performance suspension component designed to improve both ride height and damping performance.

Front Lift Range: 0-3.5"

ICON notes that published lift heights are based on a stock-equipped vehicle.

Added weight from accessories such as:

  • Steel bumpers

  • Winches

  • Skid plates

  • Recovery equipment

  • Roof racks

  • Other permanently installed accessories

can affect actual ride height.

ICON 2.5 Series Front Coilovers

The K53061 system uses ICON 58646 2.5 Series Vehicle-Specific Internal Reservoir Coilovers.

Key features include:

  • 2.5-inch shock body

  • Vehicle-specific shock tuning

  • Adjustable 0-3.5" front lift

  • Corrosion-resistant CAD-plated shock body

  • Heavy-duty 7/8-inch shock shaft

  • 6061 aircraft-grade aluminum CNC-machined components

  • FK Rod End bearings

  • Fully serviceable construction

The larger 2.5-inch shock body provides increased oil capacity and improved damping performance compared with conventional factory replacement shocks.

2" Rear Lift Coil Springs

The K53061 includes ICON 52700 2-inch rear lift coil springs.

These rear springs are engineered to complement the adjustable front suspension while providing additional rear ride height and improved suspension performance.

The result is a more balanced front-to-rear suspension package.

2.0 Aluminum Series Rear Shocks

ICON pairs the front coilovers with 56505 2.0 Aluminum Series Vehicle-Specific Internal Reservoir rear shocks.

Rear shock features include:

  • 2.0-inch aluminum shock body

  • Internal Floating Piston design

  • Vehicle-specific tuning

  • Heavy-duty 5/8-inch shock shaft

  • Designed for 1-3 inches of rear lift

  • Fully serviceable construction

The rear shocks are tuned to complement the front 2.5 Series coilovers, helping provide smooth and consistent damping from front to rear.

KDSS Compatibility

ICON specifically notes that KDSS-equipped vehicles require rear track bar #54200.

KDSS-equipped 4Runners and FJ Cruisers use additional suspension components that affect rear suspension geometry and axle position after lifting.

For these applications, the ICON Adjustable Rear Track Bar helps properly center the rear axle beneath the vehicle.

Adjustable Rear Track Bar Recommendation

Even on non-KDSS vehicles, ICON recommends an adjustable rear track bar to help realign the rear axle after lifting.

Lifting a solid-axle vehicle can cause the rear axle to shift laterally because of the fixed length of the factory track bar.

The adjustable track bar allows the rear axle to be repositioned closer to its proper centered location.

Recommended Track Bar: ICON 54200

Wheel & Tire Recommendations

ICON confirms that OEM wheels and tires are compatible with the K53061 system.

For aftermarket wheel and tire combinations, ICON recommends:

17" Wheels

  • 17x8.5"

  • 4.75" backspacing

  • 0mm offset

18" Wheels

  • 18x9"

  • 5.00" backspacing

  • 0mm offset

20" Wheels

  • 20x9"

  • 5.00" backspacing

  • 0mm offset

Recommended Aftermarket Tire Size:
33" x 11.50"

Larger tires may fit, but ICON notes that fender trimming and other modifications will be required.

Actual tire clearance can vary based on wheel width, offset, backspacing, suspension height and vehicle configuration.

Expedition Coil Option for Heavier Vehicles

ICON identifies an optional 700 lb/in Expedition Coil for heavier-equipped vehicles.

This may be useful for 4Runners and FJ Cruisers carrying substantial permanent front-end weight from accessories such as:

  • Steel bumpers

  • Winches

  • Skid plates

  • Recovery equipment

  • Other permanently installed accessories

Spring selection should be based on the actual weight and configuration of the vehicle.

Fully Serviceable ICON Shocks

The ICON shocks included with K53061 are fully serviceable.

Unlike disposable replacement shocks, ICON shocks can be serviced and rebuilt as components wear over time, helping extend the usable life of the suspension system.

Bolt-On Installation

The ICON K53061 Stage 1 Suspension System is designed as a bolt-on suspension upgrade.

No cutting or welding is required.

A professional wheel alignment should be performed after installation and final front ride-height adjustment.
